
Abiy currently serves as the Program Manager for the African Artist Peace Initiative (AAPI) – focusing on research and engagement strategies for the Cultural Diplomacy for Africa Program (CDAP). He is also a Sustainability Consultant and Development Communication practitioner based in Addis Ababa. His broader research interest lies in the role of digitization in building infrastructure resilience, media governance, and sustainability in emerging economies. He also advocates for the powerful role of media, arts, and cultural heritage in co-creating new progressive paradigms for social development. Prior, he co-founded Addis Sustainable Life as his first creative enterprise that distributed eco-friendly packaging, while exploring better ways of running it. Abiy is a Resolution Project Fellow, One Young World Ambassador, member of the Ethiopian World Federation (EWF) and Now Generation Forum (NGF). He holds a BSc. in Civil Engineering from Addis Ababa University and MSc. in Sustainability & Business from the University of Leeds as a Chevening Scholar.
